The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination (LISD) supports research, publication, and teaching on self-determination, state sovereignty, boundaries, and autonomy; related sociocultural, ethnic, and religious issues; aspects of international law and international politics; strategic, political, economic, and economic-industrial matters; and the role and character of international organizations such as the UN, the OSCE, and other regional organizations and NGOs in search of greater autonomy or independence. The program is funded through the generosity of H.S.H. Prince Hans Adam II of Liechtenstein, and is directed by program founder Wolfgang Danspeckgruber, lecturer in public and international affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School.

Minority Rights Group (MRG) works to secure the rights of ethnic, religious, and linguistic minorities and acts as an advocate for the rights of minorities. MRG works across groups to build links and to raise awareness of minority rights within a clear framework of international standards in a non-partisan way. The organization promotes cooperation and understanding by bringing together groups with different views to share experiences and solve problems collaboratively. This lays the foundation for building bridges across communities, while analyzing case studies and promoting good practices. MRG's current programs focus on minority rights' issues in Europe and Central Asia, Asia/Pacific, and Africa and the Middle East.

Partners for Democratic Change is an international organization committed to building sustainable local capacity to advance civil society and a culture of change and conflict management worldwide. Since its inception in 1989, Partners has provided vital communication, negotiation, and cooperative planning skills to thousands of civic, NGO, municipal and national government leaders in nearly 40 countries.
